Bringing home the harvest

We’re all about freshness here at Harvester, from our exciting menu to our famous salad bar. We’re big on innovation, from field to fork – which is why we do everything we can to make sure the ingredients we work with are always farm fresh.

How do we make sure our salad is fresh?

Have you ever wondered where your salad bar favourites are grown, or how they get to your local Harvester in the best possible condition? We paid a visit to our friends at FreshDirect and Westlands Farm for a behind-the-scenes look at how our fruit and veggies arrive so fresh, ready to be dished up by our expert chefs…

Lettuce explain…

Over a million lettuces make their way to our famous salad bar every year. At FreshDirect, each lettuce is quality checked by the team, who work around the clock to bring us fresh produce, and they’re delivered to your local Harvester three times a week. That means you’re never more than a day away from a fresh delivery of fruit and veg.

We’re always looking for fresh ideas

How’s this for clever tech? Westlands Farm use ground-breaking technology to grow microherbs like these sweet-tasting peashoots on conveyor belts in state-of-the-art glass houses. It takes about seven to ten days for the shoots to reach the end of the belt. They’re then ready to be picked by the farmers and delivered to our kitchens.

Fancy a taste?

Now you know where it comes from, why not pop in and give it a taste? Book a table at your local Harvester and you can enjoy free unlimited salad from our famous salad bar with every main meal. Just grab a bowl, find your favourites and make as many trips as you like. Don’t forget to save some room for dessert, though…
